Amy Calvarese Beeman of Cochranville
Amy Calvarese Beeman, 60, of Cochranville, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of Jonathon M. Beeman, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Armando and Ruth Donnelly Calvarese. Amy was a very creative freelance artist. She has done fine art restorations on paintings, sculpture and antiques. She was skilled at portraits and murals. There are numerous examples of her work in the Kennett and Delaware area. A large wall mural of the history of Kennett Square is in the Kennett Area Senior Center. She had over 30 years experience in antique sales and decorative arts. For the past 20 years she has been assessing antiques and performing estate reductions for her customers. Most recently, her antique store was located at the Pennsbury Antique Mall in Chadds Ford. For 30 years, Amy has been providing art classes in Chester and Lancaster counties. Amy was a licensed practical nurse, which aided her in creating a special kind of art therapy specifically designed for senior citizens. She had been involved in many civic organizations; she was president of the Octorara Art Association for 4 years. She had a bachelor’s of fine arts degree from Temple University and studied in Rome, Italy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Tom Calvarese of Wilmington, Del. and Mike Calvarese of Hockessin, Del.; one sister, Wendy Calvarese of Avondale; one nephew, Paul Calvarese, and a niece Golda Collings.
